Elections have Consequences – Governor Rauner made his bed.

By Kirk Allen & John Kraft

Illinois (ECWd) –

The common theme among those wanting your vote is to convince you that only they can make things better. Here in Illinois, “better” is an undefined term subject to the limited paradigm of the person pulling the lever or filling that circle next to the name of those they support.

Governor Rauner won the Republican primary and during his victory speech he said, “I want to congratulate my opponent on her principled stand…..for those of you around the State of Illinois who wanted to send me a message, let me be clear, I have heard you.” (WBBM Radio)

A couple things jumped out at us when we heard those words.  Rauner’s entire campaign was void of any accomplishments.  It was a campaign of hit pieces falsely tying Jeannie Ives to Micheal Madigan. They were all lies and he knew it.  How do we know that he knew they were lies?  First, from his victory speech, which may be the first time in this campaign he told the truth.

He congratulated his opponent for her “principled stand”.   For those not familiar with what those principles were, it was grounded in the West Point Code of Conduct where she graduated from.  She will not lie, cheat, steal or tolerate those who do. Not exactly principles that would tie her to Madigan.

Oh, do tell us, Governor Rauner, what principles of your opponent do you speak of?  Governor Rauner knows his campaign was one of lies and we suspect had the media statewide done what they did upstate, Jeannie Ives would have been the victor in yesterdays message to the Governor.  For those not familiar with what the media did in the Cook County area, they exposed Rauner for his lies about his opponent.  Such exposure was practically non-existent in most of the state.  The fact that Ives won DuPage County by over 4% points in the claimed Republican stronghold in this state proves that point in our opinion.  Looking at the map of last nights results provided by the Sun-Times, it would be telling to know how much truth was told about Rauner’s lies by the media (TV, Radio, and Newspaper) in those Counties where Rauner pulled out narrow victories (counties in purple).

Rauner claims to have heard the message.  We can only wonder how his paradigm will define that “message“. More importantly, hearing the message is much different than listening to the message. We suspect he was truthful when he said he heard the message but short of a public apology for his lies and action to reverse the damage he created in this state and within the Republican party, we contend he has not listened to the message.

Knowing elections have consequences, we predict Rauner’s actions during his first term and false attacks and lies about a principled and respected legislature in this primary will ensure this election is the last that he ever wins.

The Republican voters lost by giving Rauner another chance to be governor. The Democratic voters lost by allowing a billionaire socialist like Pritzker to be their nominee.

While I’m sure some Ives supporters will hold their nose and vote Rauner in November, the people behind the Ives campaign committee are seriously considering doing one of two things: 1) run a real conservative as a third-party candidate OR 2) listen to what Libertarian nominee Grayson “Kash” Jackson has to say on Saturday, July 14.

Given the political establishment put forth equally as crappy candidates as the 2016 Congressional and presidential election cycle, voters are either going to look for someone else to support or be like the 61% of registered voters in the state who didn’t vote in the 2014 gubernatorial election.

The Illinois Green Party isn’t fielding a slate this year, as they’re focusing more on local races. The Constitution Party nominated a gubernatorial candidate, but nothing for the other races (essentially a NOTA vote), but they have a reputation for getting disqualified.

What does this mean? A three-way race for governor and other statewide races in November, where Jackson can get the minimum of 5% and become a major party or the rest of the slate can get 5% in their races and become a recognized party. Either way, it’s easier ballot access in the 2020 cycle with a primary election process….and maybe the boot in the ass Illinois needs to recover from the governmental corruption of both major parties.

The voters of Illinois fully deserve absolutely everything they will get. They want to live in a s***hole and here it comes. I just hope that these voters do not move here to Florida because they surely will bring their filthy voting habits with them.

Outspent 10 to 1 by Rauner, Ives could not respond to the Rauner lies about her. If you can’t run on issues and facts don’t run Governor. In my view, Ives won.

Not sure who Rauner thinks will vote for him. I see zero difference between Rauner and Pugsley. I will skip that race

I think the media outlets in Central IL wanted Rauner to win because he has money to spend on airtime down here, and that’s more lucrative for them than a grass roots Ives campaign would be. Ives could have spent more time here, but the media didn’t cover her stops like they should have, either.

Not a surprise that Rauner won Cook County. Big money in Chicago prefers their tax breaks that Rauner has tried to guarantee them.

Obviously Pritzker will win Cook in the election, but it’ll be interesting to see the Republican turnout up there.

AS much as I agree, I do not hope this is the last election Rauner wins.

It would not surprise me if JB exposes Rauners tactics in the primary and uses it against him

I still hope Rauner Remains our Governor for the next term.

JB will sign any gun control legislation that makes it to his desk. We need to protect our Constitution first.

Rauner hasn’t and will continue to not protect the constitution. He will sign the remaining gun control bills that are sitting on his desk now.

Jeanne should have won; the voters are stupid, they chose immorality over morality. The Bible teaches this day will come and it has. The anti-Christian liberal media pilloried another good person and gave good people everywhere another reason not to run for political office. Illinois is a corrupt hellhole that is facilitated by ignorant sheeple.

Watch Dogs comments spot on … Unfortunately, wasted on the deaf ears of Rauner and beloved aides, because they truly believe they know what they are doing. As one of the lemmings who entrusted him with my vote last time, he will not beat the Madigan Machine and money about to roll over him in the fall. For such a smart business man, he is just plan naive on the political scene in Illinois. Sending my best wishes to Ives and pray she continues the fight.
