Attorney General looking into Kankakee's failure to approve and post meeting minutes -

BY JOHN KRAFT & KIRK ALLEN

ON December 28, 2017

KANKAKEE, IL. (ECWd) -

It's a sad day when the Illinois Attorney General has to get involved in the City of Kankakee's failure to approve and post meeting minutes.

Something so simple, yet so hard for the city to do. They can build and publish a completely new website. They can post minutes every meeting before and after the minutes in question, but now they have to have their arms twisted to comply with the Open Meetings Act when it comes to approving and posting the minutes of three meetings held in October of 2017.

Shameful - and expensive. Now their attorney will start racking up billable hours trying to explain why it is too hard to approve and post meeting minutes for these three meetings.
