LINCOLN, IL. (ECWd) –
The Logan County Board met on Nov 16th and decided it would consider a Motion to eliminate its Logan County Economic Development Partnership program.
The Motion will be to eliminate, not suspend, the $55,000 for that fund. It will be considered at the next regular county board meeting.
There was some discussion that the board was not happy with the way the program is currently operating, citing some non-performance of duties, lack of economic development, etc. as reasons for eliminating the program.
This is a program with Atlanta’s Bill Thomas administering it in some fashion. Bill Thomas has recently been under criticism for his dealings with the Atlanta Library District, and his failure to submit truthful Statements of Economic Interest.
The county will remain in the Peoria Area Economic Development Council.
