FOSTERBURG, IL. (ECWd) –
The Bottom Line: Alcohol-fueled entertainment on the backs of the taxpayers.
Fosterburg Water District finally provided receipts for their Super Bowl Weekend festivities and other parties they have been paying for with public funds.
They claim, in writing, that no public business was discussed. Taking their statement as fact, it means that the parties were of no public purpose, which is a constitutional requirement in order to expend public funds, property or credit.
The arrogance of these people who abused the public trust, and try to excuse their actions, is incomprehensible. This is a textbook example of what happens when people are left in positions of public trust for far too long. They take advantage of the system and the apathy of the public who until recently have trusted public officials to have the best interest of the public at heart. This district and these officials have proven once again the need for the public to stand up and fight back.
These Water District Commissioners had lots of fun drinking and partying on your dime. See for yourself!

This is unacceptable and these people cannot be trusted with public funds, let alone with a public credit card.
