LaSalle County, IL. (ECWd)

A Special Prosecutor from the Illinois Office of the State’s Attorney Appellate Prosecutor’s Office was indicted on 17 felony counts yesterday in LaSalle County, Illinois – which arose out of his duties as State’s Attorney. Download docket sheet (here), or view below.

Brian Towne was hired by the ILSAAP within days of being defeated in his bid for reelection as State’s Attorney in LaSalle County.

Since working for the ILSAAP:

  • The Illinois Supreme Court upheld an Appellate Court ruling against his illegal police force, entitled “SAFE” or State’s Attorney Felony Enforcement Unit
  • He has been indicted by a LaSalle County Grand Jury on 17 felony counts arising out of his performance as the LaSalle County State’s Attorney. Any felony convictions could seize his retirement benefits from that employment.

As of publication of this article he is still listed as a special prosecutor on ILS AAP’s web page, however, in a telephonic interview this morning, ILSAAP Director Patrick Delfino stated they had not received a copy of the indictment yet, but did place Brian Towne on administrative duties as of 8:00 a.m. this morning.

As a reminder, Towne is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law – the same goes for any other defendant.
