CHATHAM, IL. (ECWd) –
The Village of Chatham held a regular meeting last night and voted to censure their Mayor, Tom Gray, for his obscene gesture of flipping the bird to a citizen during an ethics commission hearing of an ethics complaint against him.
It was a unanimous vote, with several trustees also wanting to ask for his resignation and pointing out that Mayor Gray has been the “stumbling block” to them moving the city forwards and the council’s ability to work with each other as professionals should.
Discussion, as noted in the below video, indicate the possibility of a request for his resignation at the next scheduled village board meeting as well as a possible vote of no confidence.
