Today Representative Dwight Kay along with 14 other State Representatives filed House Joint Resolution 0158 that calls for the removal of Auditor General Frank Mautino for cause.
“RESOLVED, That, by the vote of three-fifths of the members elected to each house of the General Assembly pursuant to Section 3 of Article VIII of the Constitution of the State of Illinois, Frank J. Mautino of Spring Valley, Illinois is removed as Auditor General for the State of Illinois immediately.”
We would like to thank those responsible for being the adults in the room and taking these steps to bring accountability to the top watchdog in the state. Now we will find out what Mike Madigan is made of. Will he side with malfeasance or accountability?
