Clark Co. Park District pays $275 per hour to answer FOIA Requests –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On April 12, 2016

CLARK CO., IL. (ECWd) –

I’d take the job for half that!

Charity Murphy, Clark County Park District Executive Director, claims that 4 hours of time spent answering an FOIA request cost the park district “at a minimum” of $1,100.00.

Wow! Get the shovel, it’s getting deep…

We know this has to be a false claim on her part in order to make it look like those pesky FOIA requests are costing the district huge amounts of money to process, when what really costs is her failure to process them in a timely manner.

Charity Murphy provided 37 pages of documents that she printed from a website – documents that should have already been filed at the park district office.

The failure and cost lie with Murphy and her failure to keep accurate public records available to the public.

For the Park District Commissioners: Please have her sign a sworn statement attesting to the cost of this FOIA request.

That’s crazy!! And likely highly exaggerated! Also, she has an ad in todays SAD-Vocate for a FOIA helper in the office….
