Lincoln Way School District 210 – Damning letter to BoE –

To grasp the importance of the document below, we urge you to first watch the video where an Asst. US Attorney, who happened to be a board member for D210, asked a series of questions to the accountant presenting the audit in this article.

Pay particular attention to the other board members who spoke up, and how they tried to imply that everything was OK and the accounting firm has never found a problem.  What a sad story that a new board member, in less than a year, identifies a laundry list of problems and instead of listening and learning, the other members ignored him and tried to white wash the facts.

It is clear that this board member, a hero in our eyes, knew the answer to every question before he ever asked it.  His memorandum written in September of 2015, and addressed to the board, point out many of the same issues he raised with the auditor.

Most notable was his call for legal action against the accounting firm.  The call was clearly is an indicator that the common claim of “clean audit” is far from true.  Much like we know with the College of DuPage.

“The district should consider legal action against Mulcahy, Pauritsch, Salvador & Co., Ltd. if our attorneys find grounds for doing so.”

“Our auditing firm has been criticized by the U.S. Court of Appeals in Chicago. Specifically, in a case where our auditors appealed a determination by the Internal Revenue Service regarding their firm’s own tax liability, the Court affirmed the IRS’s findings and had this to say: “That an accounting firm should so screw up its taxes is the most remarkable feature of the case.”

I can’t say enough about the steps this board member did for the benefit of the community.  This is what being a board member is all about.  The parallels of this school district and the problems at the College of DuPage are actually pretty  amazing.  It is a pleasure to see once again a single board member willing to stand up against the establishment and call things for what they are.

Now it’s time for people to file criminal complaints and force the investigation into the matters raised as there is clearly wrongdoing taking place in D210!
