DuPage Co. (ECWd) –
In yet another self promoting spectacle, the boycott team of College of DuPage (COD) Trustees, Birt, McGuire, and Wozniak, have called for a Special Meeting to be held on the 7th of January, 2016. The purpose of the meeting is to hold an Organizational Meeting in which a new Chairman will be voted on. (Agenda)
Sadly for these three, they just can’t get it though their thick skulls that there is no provision in the law for them to hold an organizational meeting outside of the one mandated after an election.
Even if there was, with a three -three split on the subject there is no sign that the current positions would change as there simply is not enough votes to change anything.
I would suggest the clean slate team of three plan on showing up very early to the meeting as to ensure time to overcome any possible delay in getting to the campus. If any one of the three can’t make the meeting it would provide a voting majority for the boycott team, which clearly would only lead to more problems.
In addition to this news update, we have been informed the complaint filed with the State Board of Elections against Trustee Frank Napolitano was closed today finding he did nothing wrong by unanimous vote of the hearing board.

Posted at 14:33h, 04 JanuaryJust curious. Where is this posted? I’m at the college. There is no hardcopy notice posted here (although there is still time to make the 48 hour deadline). The only notice on the COD Board of Trustees Web site is from the Dec 21 attempted meeting. It all looks official. Where is the source of the agenda download?

Posted at 17:28h, 04 JanuaryIt should be posted at least 48 hours in advance on COD’s website.

Posted at 16:50h, 05 JanuaryIts posted on the COD BOT Web site now. Actually, its posted twice as I write this, with starting times of 6:45pm and 7:00pm. I’ll stop and pick up a hardcopy of the agenda if available outside the boardroom. Should be a lively meeting.

Posted at 16:41h, 22 DecemberI hope the concession stand is open. This meeting should be a lot of fun. I want to see how they try to make a motion that is categorically out of order for being against policy.
I notice there is no Public Comment at the start of the meeting. Seems like a glaring omission. This is the first opportunity for citizens to tell the Team Boycott what we think of their little ploy.
Spread the word around. Maybe we can fill up the atrium again.

Posted at 16:17h, 22 DecemberWhy no Pledge of Allegiance?
Why are Public comment so late in the agenda?
And why would they be doing an organizational meeting at this point?
Do these three have any right to call a meeting?
And this is the first I knew anyone had charge Frank with anything.

Posted at 16:02h, 22 DecemberThe next scheduled BOT meeting is Jan. 21. Do Birt, Wozniak, and McGuire have legal standing to schedule a BOT meeting? These 3 have gone off the reservation. Chair Mazzochi should have the COD police deny them entrance to the meeting room.

Posted at 16:16h, 22 DecemberYes, they have legal standing to call a special meeting. No, they do not have legal standing to vote for a new chair, vice-chair, etc.
