Clark Co., IL. (ECWd) –
September 17, 2015
At tonight’s meeting of the Clark County Park District Board of Commissioners, the board discussed the “Community Parks Grant” that had in the past been given to local Clark County communities who requested it. The issue is whether the Park District Code authorizes public funds of the Park District to be used in this manner. The short answer is no, but there are ways funds can be used according to the Park District Code that could be of benefit to the local parks. For full disclosure, I wrote a letter to the Board with an explanation of how what had happened in the past with these public funds should not have happened.
The Budget Ordinance for 2015-2016 was also passed, it took a second vote to pass it. Board Chairman was absent from this meeting.
Charity Murphy, the Park District Director informed the staff earlier this week that she had submitted a 2-week notice of her resigning. She has employment elsewhere.

Posted at 13:37h, 18 SeptemberI don’t think so – it has to be a joint “recreational program”, as opposed to “let’s pay for our yard mowing”.

Posted at 09:20h, 18 SeptemberThe resignation is a good thing for all concerned…..she was never qualified to run our park! As for the budget, the fiscal year started April 1, and 5 and 1/2 months later the budget finally gets approved?? What the hell is Kuehnel doing?? We need a new treasurer!!

Posted at 22:19h, 17 Septemberthe funds can only be used on real estate owned by the Park District – which is Mill Creek Park. Spending it in local parks requires a joint recreational program – through a written contract.
