Paris, IL. (ECWd) –
Edited to add video link and for spelling…
The Edgar County Board held a special meeting at 1:00 p.m. on July 22, 2015.
During the meeting there was considerable discussion on how to go about fixing the leaking roof on the Courthouse building.
The Engineer consulted by board member Patrick, stated that it would need a complete replacement in around 5 years, and the board should consider repairs while they obtain the funds for a complete replacement.
A Motion was made to allow the contractor to conduct the engineering, and to present a repair plan estimated in the range of between $40,000 and $60,000. Motion passed.
Another Motion was made to form a citizen advisory committee to look at the complete replacement and develop a course of action to present to the board as its recommendation. Motion passed.
Meeting adjourned.
Photos of the damaged/deteriorating roof can be viewed on the Edgar County website (here).
