I am not alone!

Illinois – (ECWd)

I woke up this morning to an e-mail from an attorney that has been following our work for some time.  He forwarded an attachment that was titled  Chicago: Still the Capital of Corruption – Anti-Corruption Report Number 8 – May 28, 2015″

Let’s just say reading it made me feel a whole lot better, as it is clear others are seeing the very same problems in this state.  Just yesterday I ran this article that eluded to some of the very same concerns in our society as pointed out in the above mentioned report. I am glad to see with this report I am not alone in these thoughts.

“To end corruption, society needs to do more than convict the guys that get caught. A comprehensive anti-corruption strategy must be forged and carried out over at least a decade. A new political culture in which public corruption is no longer tolerated must be created.”

“But the greatest cost of corruption is the loss of faith in the fairness and honesty of government. If people believe the fix is in and all politicians are crooked, they won’t report corruption. They may stop voting because they don’t believe things will change. If they distrust the police, they won’t cooperate with investigators. This lack of faith, or cynicism, is a major contributing factor to why Chicago continues to be both the murder capital and the corruption capital of the nation.”

We will always have hardcore knot-heads that will refuse to ever change and will continue to push the envelope for self gain, but it’s evident that current indicators are they are losing.  Although it may not be readily visible to the untrained eye, know a difference is being made and more people are waking up.  We must all sacrifice something if we are ever going to fix the problems we face in our society.  Without sacrifice we will not see these problems fixed.

I ask that more people ask of themselves, what can I do to make a difference.  Identify that, and get to work!
