Clark County Park District – Something special about this meeting –

Clark Co., IL. (ECWd) –

The Clark County Park District held it final regular meeting with the current commissioners last night and this was indeed a “special” meeting.

With renewed determination on the heels of the election, where one of the commissioners was ousted by the voters, the citizens showed up in force and demanded  further inquiry into the leased lots and the covenants.

Several citizens and a current commissioner stated that in the past several months they had spent considerable time talking to residents of the District and not a single person they talked to were in favor of turning park district property into a leased lot subdivision for private homes.

If the election results, and three top vote recipients, were not enough to change minds, the attendance and discussions at this meeting might well have done it…for now…

For this meeting though, the approval of lease lot covenants were tabled. No word on whether or not there will be a special meeting or if the issue will carry over into the new Board of Commissioners when they take office in the next week or so.

I think there was only one person that left this meeting in a bad mood…
