MARSHALL, IL. (ECWd) –
Words cannot describe – but I will try anyway…
The Marshall city council meeting was December 22, 2014, and when it came time for taking action on the resignation of Beverly Church, it got interesting. Herman Wallace spoke during public comment and said that he knew Church did not live in the city limits when he voted for her – if that’s true, then he helped perpetuate the fraud that is now the legacy of Church’s tenure as Alderman.
Later, City Alderman Tim Sanders, the Mayor’s son, stated that everyone on the city council knew she was not a resident of the city. Another one perpetuating a fraud on the good citizens of Marshall, and assisting in voter fraud by knowing she lived in a place other than the precinct where she was registered (and still is) to vote. Said he would not “vote her down”, without realizing a vote had no effect since she had already resigned.
The interesting part is all of the push-back I received when I publicly challenged her right to sit as an Alderman in a city that she was not a resident of. I wrote her and the mayor a letter asking her to resign for failure to remain qualified. Two weeks went by, and no acknowledgment of even receiving the letter from either one of them. Her and her husband both claimed that she was a “resident” of the city. They claimed she shouldn’t have signed the senior citizen homestead exemption – but fail to realize it did not matter which one of them signed it, they received it using her name, age, and birth-date.
It’s no wonder the council did not want to act and simply declare her seat vacant because she was not qualified – they knew it all along (according to Tim Sanders) and allowed it to continue! What a sad, sad, state of affairs this is, and of course I am the bad guy for pointing it out.
I suppose Tim Sanders has never taken this oath?
“I do solemnly swear (affirm) that I will support the
Constitution of the United States, and the Constitution of
the State of Illinois, and that I will faithfully discharge
the duties of the office of Marshall City Alderman to the
best of my ability.”

Posted at 10:04h, 23 DecemberI think Tim was being a little critical of Warren and Jim and Cheryl there…they all ran together, bought ads together and got elected together…..he is a snide little POS….no one cares whether he agreed with it or not…..yes, the whole damn council knew Bev didn’t live in the city, but it took someone like the ECWD group to make them face the music…..BRAVO sir! And good riddance to her!
