MARSHALL, IL. (ECWd) –
During their November 10, 2014 City Council meeting, the Marshall City Council voted on an agenda item listed as “Consider and take action on Mayoral Appointment“. During public comment at that meeting, I asked the council to table that vote because the agenda item was too vague for the average person to read it and decide whether he wanted to attend the meeting based on the agenda item.
The Mayor has several appointments he can make, like clerk, attorney, fire chief, and police chief to name just a few. The agenda item did not list which appointment they were to act upon, and in my opinion did not comply with the Open Meetings Act. (original complaint here)
