EDGAR CO. (ECWd) –
This is one more example of the extremely sorry state of the Airport under the Jimmy Wells, Chris Patrick, Mike Heltsley, and Adonna Bennett reign out at the Airport. What a freak-show that was!
On October 31, 2014, the Illinois Attorney General’s Public Access Counselor issued a determination letter acknowledging that the Edgar County Airport violated the law by not proving records requested under the Freedom of Information Act.
Back on February 8, 2013, Mr. Allen requested certain financial records of the Airport, including bank records and any records of a Certificate of Deposit that we knew they had been in possession of. This is the CD that Chris Patrick and Jimmy Wells spent many meetings lying about, trying to keep it secret.
February 21, 2013, the Airport lied about the CD and Mr. Allen filed a request for review with the AG’s PAC Office. In his complaint, Allen provided evidence that the Airport lied.
July 17, 2013 – Jimmy Wells, we presume under the direction of Chris Patrick, lied to the AG’s office in a response to the complaint. He also supplied an affidavit from the First Bank that was truly unbelievable – as in we did not believe the bank would actually put that down on paper and sign it, and we still don’t believe it.
August 12, 2013 – Mr. Allen replied to the AG and provided more information proving the airport did not provide all the information requested, and that they did not look for all the information requested.
October 31, 2014 – AG determined that the Edgar County Airport violated the Freedom of Information Act by not performing a reasonable search for the requested records, and that it did not provide all the responsive records in its possession. The PAC also stated that is was possible and probable that the Airport did not provide all the responsive records concerning that CD and one or more accounts at other banks.

Posted at 19:15h, 31 OctoberWill a penalty or fine be issued to the airport board? If not, then there’s not much incentive to comply with FOIA.
