COD CHAIRWOMAN ERIN BIRT ATTACKS BOARD REFORMER AND DEFENDS UNETHICAL ACTIONS OF PRESIDENT ROBERT BREUDER
In a statement, Birt defends the indefensible political play to deliver support to Governor Quinn for $20 million in state funding by attacking Vice Chairwoman Kathy Hamilton’s efforts to bring reform.

Elmhurst- “Last night, citizens witnessed the deep and institutionalized corruption within the College of DuPage. Board President Erin Brit staunchly defended the indefensible political strategy to bring a $20 million state grant to campus by delivering political support to Governor Quinn. Instead of asking President Breuder to publicly comment on the scandal, Birt chose to target board reformer and Vice Chairwoman Kathy Hamilton. While the Faculty Senate is calling ‘no confidence’ meetings and newspaper editorials called the strategy ‘a seamy scheme,’ Erin Birt is defending President Robert Breuder’s business-as-usual.”
“At For the Good of Illinois, we are extremely pleased that board reformer Kathy Hamilton showed the courage of her convictions to publically battle this corrupt strategy and unneeded building. Hamilton has consistently tried to force the board to open the books on enrollment and long term trends that show this building is not needed. Birt’s actions last night show that the institutionalized spending machine is now gunning for reformer Hamilton.”
Just two weeks ago, Governor Quinn stopped the grant and called COD President Robert Breuder’s email ‘extremely alarming’ saying that he had no tolerance for ‘mis-representation’ of how funds would be used.
Hamilton was the only trustee to vote against the building and for the last month battled the project in the press and in public board discussions.

Posted at 15:37h, 19 JulyKathy Hamilton did a great job. Next election lets get them all out. We need change and the tax payers should not have to tolerate this. When is the next meeting, and can others that couldn’t attend see the meeting?
