PARIS, IL. (ECWd) –
Edgar County Airport: I had learned a couple weeks ago that all but one of the “Airport Advisory Board” member’s terms had expired and they no longer could sit on the “advisory board” because of it.
My position was, that since the Edgar County Airport was operating under a statute that did not expressly require or permit any board of any kind, the board was an invalid board to begin with. The main reason for this was that the other two statutes involving local public airports either required or permitted a board of some type to manage it, and if the legislature would have wanted a board it would certainly have permitted one in the statute. This one does not permit a board.
I later became aware that Adonna Bennett had turned all of her things into a county board member and stated that she quit the board – not that it was needed since she was, in my opinion, no longer a board member anyway for two reasons; (1) in that her appointment was to fill the remainder of Chris Patrick’s term that expired one month after she was appointed to the board, and (2) that the board cannot legally exist in the first place.

Posted at 11:06h, 11 JanuaryNow I get it. Adonna resigned from the airport advisory board this month: a board that didn’t legally exist: from a term that had expired a year ago; and from the position of “chairman/woman” acquired through the dubious means of an illegal secret ballot………………..
And, while trouncing around Edgar County’s airport on a witch hunt and in her perceived capacity as the supreme authority; she trashed revered diplomas and certificates of others, illegally invaded their leased space, published confidential business information to the world, and wrongfully attacked an innocent business man time and time again without the facts or justification to do so…………….
Given the events of the past few weeks, should we now expect Ben Jenness, the Edgar County Board Chairman, to insist on a letter of appreciation for her “service” as he did for “CD” Wells? If so, would it then appear to all of the Edgar County voters as though Ben Jenness was the most appreciative person here in Edgar County for the service he’s received from both of them? I say, probably so, since it seems everyone else is searching for a ten foot pole.
