FOIA Lawsuit v. Julie Hamos & Illinois HFS –

SPRINGFIELD, IL (ECWd) –

A civil suit, 13 MR 74, was filed by Kirk Allen in Edgar County Circuit Court against Julie Hamos, Director of Illinois Health and Family Services, and the Illinois Department of Health and Family Services for their alleged improper denial of public records pursuant to a Freedom Of Information Act request.

The Illinois FOIA provides people the ability to file civil suits in the county in which they reside, provided the FOIA request was to a state agency.
