PARIS, IL. (ECWd) –
After numerous attempts to gain access to public records at the Edgar County Airport, with nothing but resistance and improper denials, there comes a point when enough is enough.
John Kraft advised the board during the study session meeting last week that Mr. Wells was not complying, in hopes that they would do their job and require him to provide the information.
As of today, still nothing, and considering Mr. Wells has gone well beyond the statutory time frame, I filed a FOIA lawsuit this morning against Edgar County and Jimmy Wells in his capacity as the Edgar County Airport FOIA Officer.
A citizen should not have to go to these measures to view public records but as our regular readers are aware, some in this county feel they are above the law.
