EDGAR CO. (ECWd) –

It is amazing to see the reaction from Mr. Character when the facts are placed in front of him and it’s not what he claimed it to be just two days prior.

Listen to the Study Session Audio as it relates to the claims made by Mr. Character, then watch the response pertaining to those accusations. Quite a difference of attitude is probably an understatement. My comments to Mr. Character begin at the 3:20 minute mark.

As you can see from the video, Mr. Character has quite a different attitude and demeanor when the facts are presented in front of him and other members of the public are present.

He clearly expects people to answer his questions, however, any question to him is, more often than not, met with the now famous, “NO COMMENT.”

It’s OK, as we don’t need his comment when we have the documents and reading comprehension of a 5th grader. It’s clear! IDOT has made it clear! Mr. Patrick has an established, documented Conflict of Interest!

The big question now, when will the State’s Attorney take action, or can he? Is there yet another possible Conflict of Interest with him and his relationship with the attorney representing County Board Chairman Chris Patrick, which is Mayor Craig Smith, former law partner of the State’s Attorney?

Wait a minute? Did I say Craig Smith was representing County Board Chairman Chris “Character” Patrick? I thought that was the job of the State’s Attorney?

Powers and duties of State's attorney.(4) To defend all actions and proceedings brought
against his county, or against any county or State officer, in his official capacity, within his county.Powers and duties of State's attorney.

(4) To defend all actions and proceedings brought against his county, or against any county or State officer, in his official capacity, within his county.

Since not accepting documents with Mr. Patrick’s signature is an action against him, it would be the State’s Attorney’s job to defend (or agree) with that action.

Only time will tell how this is going to turn out but I think the pattern is beginning to truly show itself!

Edgar County has no shortages of Conflicts of Interest!
