Grass Fire on N. Main -

BY JOHN KRAFT & KIRK ALLEN

ON August 11, 2012

PARIS, IL. (ECWd) -

There was a grass fire on North Main Street in Paris that started around noon today.

The fire quickly spread to include five properties, the Paris Fire Department quickly arrived and put out the fire that was, at times, within a foot of several buildings, including two houses, a garage, and a few temprary storage buildings.

Just a friendly reminder, most of Edgar County and all of the City of Paris are still under a burn ban due to extremely dry spring and summer weather. Fires that start, spread fast in dry grass and can quickly get out of control.
