Taylorville Daily News Runs Updated Story – Shelby County Audit Information a Stark Difference From Original Reports

Shelby Co. (ECWd) –

The Taylorville Daily News ran a story today which appears to clear up the misinformation provided to them by the Shelby County State’s Attorney.

“Regional Radio News has received a copy of that audit and the information shows quite a stark difference from the original reports.”

We first covered the media’s regurgitation of the State’s Attorney’s press release in this article.  Based on today’s TDN coverage it appears they realized the press release they relied upon was woefully lacking and a far cry from the ‘final result‘ as claimed by Nichole Kroncke, Shelby County State’s Attorney.

As we have said for years, “Says Who and With What Proof” may be the most important two questions people can ask when being told things.  All too often key details are left out which usually are details that hurt a narrative being pushed.  In this case, the claim of the underpayment to employees as being the “final result” was totally false but as we saw, three media organizations took the bait and ran it.

We commend TDN for updating its story with more factual details.  We understand they have learned a valuable lesson when it comes to accepting press releases as the basis for a story in the future.

This state’s attorney has proven time and again she has had an agenda since day one. She has no interest in representing the people of Shelby County in this matter. Cover up and protect is priority one. The good citizens of Shelby County are not fooled nor are they swayed by the Shelby County First propaganda that some are hiding behind. Who knows, might very well be the state’s attorney pushing her agenda.
