Church Burglary Suspect Arrested In Paris, IL. –

Type of Case: Burglary Investigation
Offense(s): Burglary to a Place of Worship
Location: Paris Church of God (New Hope Ministries)-602 East Wood Street
Details: On 9-27-20 at approximately 8:53 A.M., this department was notified of a burglary that had occurred over the weekend at the Paris Church of God located at 602 East Wood Street. Pursuant to an investigation, a male subject identified as Carl B. Kelly (8-4-66) was identified and implicated as the sole suspect in this incident. Days later, he was taken into custody at Shooter’s Tavern (106 North Main Street) on the charge of Burglary to a Place of Worship. Carl was transported to the Edgar County Jail, where he was remanded pending a court appearance.
*All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
*The filing of formal charges is determined by the prosecuting attorney, upon review of case information. Charges may be added, amended, or dismissed.
*Determination of bond is made by a judge of the Circuit Court

    If this suspect is guilty it’s pretty bad when someone steals, but to steal from a church is pretty low. If this person is guilty I hope they get help for, what I would guess, their drug addiction.

    If found guilty, place him in locks on the courthouse lawn.
