Shelby County – Vice Chairman Frank Mulholland should resign immediately

By Kirk Allen & John Kraft

On March 19, 2020

Shelby Co. (ECWd) –

During our thorough review of the last Shelby County Board meeting video to identify inconsistent comments from officials, Vice Chairman Mulholland provided his thoughts as it relates to the next meeting of the County Board.   As the Director of the County Health Department provides his thoughts regarding where to hold the next meeting due to the COVID-19 concerns, Mulholland (left side, third from the front, green sweater), states at the 1:29:16 mark of the video:

“At least cancel the audience” – With a fist pump emphasis at 1:29:23

Any public official that would suggest not permitting the public from attending a public meeting has no place in public office as the law has established our right to attend as well as speak.  His suggestion to cancel the audience shows no regard for the rule of law.  He should resign immediately, as too should those that agree with such a preposterous idea and thought his comment was funny.

This is yet another example of how fast people’s rights can be trampled by those who are supposed to be representing the people during the State of Emergency.
