TERRE HAUTE, IN. (ECWd) –

Jerome “J.D.” Kesler, Vigo County Indiana Emergency Management Agency (“EMA”) Deputy Director, Vigo County Sheriff Special Deputy and former Edgar County Airport Board Member was arrested and charged this morning in Vigo County, Indiana.

Kessler was arrested and charged with two Felony counts of “Voting Outside of Precinct Residence”.

A Vigo County Division 1 warrant for Jerome D. Kesler was issued today and he submitted himself to ISP at the Vigo County Jail, where he later bonded out on 10% of a $5000 bond. Kesler was charged with two counts of Voting Outside Precinct Residence, both Class D felonies.

According to WTHI, Kesler was suspended without pay from the Vigo County EMS position, no word on the Deputy position yet.

You may remember our previous articles (click here) on Kesler where we wrote about his alleged voter fraud with voting in Indiana at a time when his place of residence was in Edgar County, Illinois. We suspected at the time he allegedly committed the fraud in order to keep his job in Vigo County – which required residency.

ISP MAKES ARREST IN VOTING OUTSIDE OF PRECINCT RESIDENCE

Vigo County—Indiana State Police Detectives at the Putnamville Post received a tip in the fall of 2016 indicating possible voting violations by a Jerome D. Kesler, currently of Paris (Edgar County) Illinois.

During the course of the investigation, evidence indicated that in 2010, Jerome D. Kesler moved from his Vigo County residence to a residence in Edgar County, Illinois. Kesler lived at the address and is alleged to have continued to vote in Vigo County Indiana primary and general elections from 2010 through 2014.

The new level 6 felony statute does not apply to this case, because the violations were prior to the new levels of felony statutes.

The case was investigated by ISP Detective Tony Guinn. Assisting was the Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office.

This is an isolated incident and not related to any other voter investigations that may be ongoing in Indiana.

No other information to release.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

The better part of this story is that WTHI TV 10 News reported the efforts of Robert Bogue and the Edgar County Watchdogs in researching and bringing this problem to the Indiana State Police and the Indiana State Police took action. Good work WTHI TV and Indiana State Police.
