St. Clair County State’s Attorney Reads Public Official Indictments Today –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On December 5, 2016

St. Clair County, IL. (ECWd) –

We noticed this coming out of Channel 4, KMOV, St. Louis – and one name in particular is very familiar to us.

A long list of public officials and employees were indicted today in St. Clair County, Illinois.

Watch KMOV’s St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Press Conference along with the U.S. District Attorney (HERE)

This comes after the Guilty Plea from the East Saint Louis Township Supervisor, Oliver W. Hamilton (HERE).

One of those indicted today is familiar to us: Jo Ann Reed:

Jo Ann Reed, former Alorton Mayor

“Reed is charged buying votes and disregard of election code.

According court documents, Reed allegedly bought votes – a special agent claims Reed knowingly gave or promised to give money in exchange for voting a certain way on a certain candidate or position in an election. She has also been accused of knowingly committing an act that is declared unlawful: electioneering, or soliciting, votes or engaging in political discussion within 100 feet of a polling place. The first is a Class 4 Felony, the second is a Misdemeanor. Her bail was set at $10,000. Reed is the former Mayor of Allerton who was convicted of at least one felony while mayor. She has filed to run for that mayoral seat once again.”

Reed is also the person we caught on video acting like a complete idiot after leaving the Commonfields of Cahokia building where a citizen was waiting for a meeting. We wrote these articles about her (here and here), and the video with a vulgar language warning is (here).
