InvEnergy Wind Turbine Victim – California Ridge Wind Farm –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On March 3, 2014

VERMILION Co., IL. (ECWd) –
This six year old girl is wearing her Hello Kitty headphones to bed in July 2013 because the wind turbines operating on the adjacent farm property is making too much noise.
This photo was taken at 10:43 PM after being in bed since 8:00 PM.
The closest wind turbines are 1665’ and 2225’ away, they are 495’ tall GE 1.6 mW nameplate capacity, and they are owned/operated by InvEnergy in Vermilion County Illinois.
This scenario repeated for so many nights during each week that, within six months after this photo was taken, the parents and both children abandoned her home and moved into a doublewide trailer eight miles away in order to get away from the nighttime noise.
Now, she asks her parents on regular occasions, “When can we move back into our old house?” and “ I want to have a normal life and get to have my old bedroom back again because I don’t like living here because there’s not enough room for my stuff and there’s no place to keep my things.”  Her parents have gently reminded both kids that they love them very much and that their health is way more important than having material things such as a nice big house with all the toys and things.
Good parents know when they have to set priorities, and this family is making the right decision to inform the public so that other families do not have to suffer the grief and life changing setbacks caused by improper wind turbine siting.

Are there children who live in your county?  Are there any families who live near wind projects proposed for their rural community?  Have you seen the letter from the Armstrong Grade School Superintendent?
If not, please take a few minutes to learn more by visiting www.fairwindenergy.org and www.edgarcountywatchdogs.com and  search “Vermilion” to see what can happen to your friends or family if wind turbine siting is overlooked and decisions are made by misinformed government leaders.

I just spent half the night awake because of the noise of nearby wind turbines. It will eventually destroy my health. Sleep deprivation bites hard.

The time to fight these is BEFORE they go up. After that its nearly impossible to change reality. Thanks to the Cambrons, the only real warriors who showed up to the battlefield. They’ve been threatened, laughed at and ridiculed. I hope more people will thank them for what they tried to do. Its hard to win with 2 or 3 people. Wake UP!

It is so sad that folks living in rural areas are having to sacrifice the quiet enjoyment of their sanctuary. If any other utility were taking away homeowner’s property rights the way industrial wind turbines have been doing these past ten years, the government would step in and compensate these families, but somehow wind project developers are being granted a free pass. IWTS’s are not even cost effective. An analysis was ran in Ohio to see at which point would wind projects become a viable source of energy and it was determined that an IWT would have to be placed every ten miles throughout the entire state of Ohio!!! These developers are in it for the money. They could careless about the suffering going on all across the U.S. It’s time we wake up and fight these projects at every turn. When manufactures can developer a product that creates energy, and developers can site responsibly, maybe then communities would stop being so outraged!

It is very unfortunate that more people aren’t willing to speak up about these truths. Our media is so blinded by the big $ that comes into communities with BigWind, that the residents who suffer are often ignored or belittled or discredited. We must unite and offer a voice for those who do not know the truth!

If it makes you feel any better…this is the same exact scenario at almost any wind turbine location. A woman near Bloomington IL has a child with aspbergers and he has been driven bonkers by the noise. The wind company treated this woman and her disabled child as if they were crazy for complaining. These companies rape the defenseless and laugh as they hand hush money out to local county boards.

If you all care about keeping local control you better watch out. The wind companies are trying to get the zoning taken out of county hands and put it with the state. They are using the argument that locals are inept and out of touch and too dumb to be able to understand what they are regulating. Really??? What county board would go along with the idea they are too dumb to control local zoning…but that’s what Sen. Sullivan is basically saying. SB 3263 (Hint: it is what the wind lobby told him to say) Better get busy and protect local zoning before that evaporates like it did in Wisconsin. (After county residents get wise they put lots of pressure on elected officials to put the set backs at much greater intervals–wind companies hate that because they can’t saturate the area and they could care less that turbines close to houses hurt people…as this story shows.

I wonder how the lies of this company are sitting with all those people gazing at the perpetual pinwheel effect out their doors and windows now? Those who remain silent lose their liberty and freedoms. This is about private property and the enjoyment of your own property you buy and pay taxes to enjoy. Did your county board protect your property rights? Or did they only protect the rights of those with big money to impose on you?
Did you learn your nice farming neighbors weren’t so nice when money was involved? Your board really didn’t care too much when they were promised lots of tax revenue? A wake up call perhaps? Liberty is on the line on many fronts.
Noise, and perpetual motion along with out of scale monstrous developments diminish your rights to use and enjoy your property. I wonder if anyone is considering a class action against this industrial mess.

You’ve got to be kidding me. What about the millions of people living in cities with much more noise? They are perfectly fine and get used to it. This is complete non sense. I’m in the industry and have been to over 20 different wind sites. Complete BS.
