"The Mailing Labels" –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On February 10, 2014

EDGAR CO. (ECWd) –
After the unsigned two page letter was received (click here for article), I submitted a FOIA request to the Edgar County Clerk asking for receipts for purchases of pre-printed mailing labels within the past 60 days.
I received the requested records today, and what it shows is that there were 3 people that purchased pre-printed mailing labels of voters in Edgar County.
–Dee Burgin – On January 15, 2014, Dee Burgin purchased pre-printed mailing labels of Edgar County voters. He paid $51.06.
–Shane St. Clair – On January 21, 2014, Shane St. Clair, candidate for Edgar County Sheriff, purchased pre-printed mailing labels and paid a total of $76.56
–Tom Dolan – On January 10, 2014, Tom Dolan, candidate for Edgar County Sheriff, purchased pre-printed mailing labels and paid a total of $96.21 for them. Dolan is the only candidate, so far, that has mailed anything to voters. I received a large post card a couple weeks ago urging me to vote for him. He has stated to me that his labels went to mail the postcard and he did not mail or have anything to do with the letter.
I am not going to try and predict which person mailed the letters, I am simply showing you who purchased the pre-printed mailing labels of Edgar County voters from the Clerk.
If the other two people would like to comment, I do not have your phone numbers, but our hotline is listed on our main page and you can leave a message and I will post your response.

Don’t believe it? Send an email to the County Clerk and get a copy of the FOIA I sent. I redacted the names of those that purchased other items since they are not part of the article in question.

I noticed that each of those that got labels paid a different amount. Is it because they only requested Republican registered voter names or a list of all registered voters, not just one particular party? Just a shame that someone would take that much time to put together a letter that tried to say so much with absolutely no proof to back up anything that was said! Do they really expect voters to just accept their word for it when they don’t even have the guts to sign their name to the letter so they can take responsibility for the content of their letter?? I can guarantee that this registered voter won’t be voting for someone that cowardly to be the Sheriff. Takes guts and courage for the job and obviously this person would rather hide behind an anonymous letter. And obviously whoever wrote the letter has no courage and no proof to back up the ridiculous ramblings included in the letter.
