Court orders administration to release documents showing a cover up by Governor Pat Quinn

A regular citizen beats Asst Attorney General Emma Steimel
in IL 5th Judicial Circuit Courtroom.

Forces open 18 internal Quinn administration emails

Yesterday, I was in the courtroom when a citizen activist represented himself and wrested key documents from a government intent on hiding public information.  It was beautiful…

RIPPING APART ILLINOIS’S MEDICAID SCANDAL

Yesterday, Kirk Allen, the co-founder of Edgar County Watchdogs, won his Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against Director Julie Hamos and Illinois HealthCare and Family Services.  At issue, were 18 Quinn administration emails that show the collusion of Governor Quinn’s General Counsel, Illinois HeathCare & Family Services executives and the top procurement officer, Matt Brown to prevent a sitting state representative from accessing public communications.
STATE REP DWIGHT KAY ASKS QUESTIONS
Rep. Kay (Glen Carbon) has conducted an independent inquiry into the $190 million “fix” to our Medicaid Management Information System.  The Quinn administration hasn’t been cooperative.
In fact, the 18 emails subject to the court order were also withheld by the administration from Rep. Kay. Yesterday, Attorney General Lisa Madigan fought in court to prevent there public release.
COLLUSION TO STOP TRANSPARENCY
It seems that the entire Administrative apparatus attempted to manufacture a response to State Rep. Dwight Kay that didn’t conflict with previous Freedom of Information Act responses already produced to our organization & activists.
The court ordered release of documents show that Governor Quinn has been very involved in the cover up of a scandal that has involved a vendor under grand jury investigation in another state for bid rigging and another  vendor that recruited H1B visa workers to replace Illinois based worker at up to $250,000 per position.
DETAILS ON MILLIONS IN NO-BID CONTRACTS MATTER
National media has covered the details – Bollywood performers, Cuban Cigars, wine baskets, Boston Harbor Boat cruises and up to $190 million in no-bid IT contracts. The FOX News Channel broke the story here.
Learn more about our investigation of the upgrade of IL Medicaid Management Information System – the largest project in state history, outside of road construction.  Stay tuned!
