Something Stinks In The Probation Dept…I Can Smell It –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On October 30, 2013

PARIS, IL. – CHARLESTON, IL.  (ECWd) –

This probation department covers at least Edgar, Clark, Coles and Cumberland counties, which is a rather large area to cover. There have been some recent events, that if they were isolated events wouldn’t normally make a person think twice, but this one just might grow some legs.

First, is the “suicide” of the Chief Probation Officer, Mr. Shad Parker in August 2013 (info from Coles County Coroner).

Next, we get a report that the new (Director of Court Services) Chief Probation Officer, Mr. Tim Shumaker, has been escorted out of the courthouse by Chief Judge Everhardt.

Not sure which courthouse yet, but I do know that Edgar County needs to update their probation webpage

A new interim Chief Probation Officer has been appointed, but we are unsure of who that is at this time.

The most curious, is the fact that local mainstream media has not reported on any of this.

The local newspaper is particular in which suicides they report. If the person is high profile and/or well to do, their suicide is not splashed all over the front page. Suicide is a death unlike any other and is traumatic for the loved ones who are left behind. The bias of the Beacon News is not helpful. But the one and only thing the Beacon News is consistant in is bias
