James Strand no longer a LaSalle Police Officer –

By Kirk Allen & John Kraft

On July 24, 2017

LaSalle Co. (ECWd) –

LaSalle Police Officer James Strand is no longer a Police Officer for the City of LaSalle.  He tendered his resignation letter on July 10th, 2017.

In October of last year, we ran the No Sex, only Kissing story that related to Officer Strand and an investigation related to allegations of solicitation of a prostitute.  As we continued our search for the truth, which appeared to be lacking in many parts of the criminal investigation, we followed up with our “Story not “falling” apart, it has crumbled”.

As we continued to follow the events of Officer Strand, who may now be the target of a criminal investigation by the LaSalle County State’s Attorney, we now find Strand has left the building.

From the language in the Resignation/Release agreement, Strand pretty much gives up all rights he may have been able to exercise and does so in exchange for $22,995.00, which is the claimed sick time that had not been used, which is 700 hours.

Now the question remains, why now?  We still have an outstanding case with the Attorney General’s Public Access office on records relating to the Strand Investigation, which to date the city has refused to provide.  Having reviewed a fair number of resignation agreements, it would appear there is more to this story.

We will update as we find out more.

You can download the agreement at this link or view it below.
