CLARK CO., IL. (ECWd) –

According to a Clark County Sheriff’s Department Press Release, there was a disturbance at Mill Creek Lake and Campground – Clark County Park District – on May 27, 2017 where reports of missing hand tools, flares, and fire extinguishers from the over flow parking lot were fielded by the CCSD.

Reports indicated several juveniles were involved and a general location of the campsite was given.

After some investigation, it was determined that only 2 individuals were involved, one being a 15-year old juvenile from Paris and the other an 18-year old from Westfield. The missing items were found, along with several bottles of alcohol.

A handgun was also found near the campsite after a Paris Police Officer notified the CCSD of where the Paris, IL. juvenile allegedly stashed it after realizing the Sheriff’s Department was looking for him.

The Paris juvenile, 15, was notified of the intent to request charges of Theft of Firearm, Possession of Firearm and Disorderly Conduct, and was released into the custody of a parent as there was no facility with an opening for holding a juvenile in custody. This person was on juvenile probation from a previous felony conviction out of Edgar County.

Dalton L. Oakley, 18, from Westfield, IL. was also arrested and notified of the intent to charge him with Disorderly Conduct and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. He posted bond and was released.
