College of DuPage – The system works….with a nudge!

DuPage Co. (ECWd) –

From day one our primary purpose has been to effectuate change by our local government.  The goal was to get them to do nothing more than comply with the laws of the state and do so with the best interest of the taxpayer, not themselves and their cronies.

Sometimes it takes a nudge, others an all out frontal assault with legal action, but either way, the end goal gets achieved.

We are very pleased to get word this morning that a courageous citizen in DuPage County who answered the calling to hold elected officials accountable has been heard!

We first wrote about the circles this citizen had to run in his effort to file a criminal complaint of Official Misconduct and Intimidation on three of the College of Trustees in this article. Those three trustees refused to perform their mandatory duties.

In one week from that filing  and our exposure of what it took for a citizen to simply file a criminal complaint, we have been notified that Ed Franckowiak was contacted by the COD police department.

According to Mr. Franckowiak, the COD PD contacted him and first apologized for not taking his complaint against COD Trustees Birt, McGuire, and Wozniak.  He was advised that they will in fact take his complaint.

My hat’s off to the COD Police for doing their job and recognizing a mistake was made.  It is a pleasure to write something positive as it relates to our police officers  in light of all the problems being exposed in Chicago in what appears to be a huge cover up of wrong doing.

In this particular case it is clear someone did not perform their duties, it was recognized, and with some nudging of one article we see that in a week’s time the system of our government has done the right thing and performed their duties, to include apologizing for what happen and taking steps to correct it.

There is no better healing process for public trust in their government than to have our public officials and servants acknowledge a mistake was made and then take steps to correct it.  That is how our system of government is suppose to work.

Tonight is another COD board meeting and I urge everyone to attend the meeting that is to start at 6:45pm.  It is important for the citizens to be involved in their local government and share their concerns or praise with their elected officials.

In addition, use this meeting as an opportunity to thank the COD PD for setting the example of how mistakes are handled!

Thank you to the College of DuPage Police Department for doing the right thing!

I hope this results in criminal charges being filed by the DuPage County States Attorney Office and the COD police department really investigates these allegations properly now. I suspect though that no charges will be filed and COP police department is just acting this way now because of public discourse of all this. We shall see. Have a nice day.
